Orpheum Theatre To Go Back In Time
MINNEAPOLIS (WJON News) -- You can get your DeLorean up to speed in Minneapolis this week to go back in time to the 80s. Hennepin Arts will kick off its Broadway season with Back To The Future The Musical at the Orpheum Theatre from Tuesday through Sunday, September 22nd, and will have a special Back to the Future Night on Thursday, September 12th.
At the Thursday celebration, there will be a DeLorean parade and fans are encouraged to wear their favorite outfit from the 50s, or 80s, a prom outfit, or cosplay as their favorite character. There will also be a special showing of the musical with the first 300 fans in themed attire receiving a limited edition poster and you can visit the Back to the Future creation station to craft your own custom DeLorean refrigerator magnet and take in the display of DeLoreans before the show.
Back to the Future the Musical is based on the film and has a book by Bob Gale, new music and lyrics by Emmy and Grammy Award-winning Alan Silvestri and six-time Grammy Award-winning Glen Ballard, with additional songs from the film including “The Power of Love” and “Johnny B. Goode.”
