SARTELL (WJON News) -- Sartell-St. Stephen students will have something extra to celebrate this school year. At Monday's School Board Meeting, the board voted to bring back "snow days" for the 2024-2025 school year.

The board approved the eLearning Plan for the year which will allow for a snow day for the first full day weather-related cancelation each semester Additional weather cancelations each semester will be designated eLearning days.

Superintendent Michael Rivard says they wanted to give students those special days to get a break from school and spend time sledding, building snowmen or with their family that we all got to experience growing up. Teachers and staff will need to make up the 8 hours either through prep work on the "snow day" or at a later date.
