ST. CLOUD (WJON News) -- Nonprofits that focus on helping boys and men can apply for some grant money.

The Central Minnesota Community Foundation has announced the opening of the Central Minnesota Boys and Men Competitive Grant Round. It opens on Sunday with an application deadline of October 31st.

They are seeking proposals for programs and projects that address key challenges facing males, such as educational disparities, mental health stigma, fatherhood support, and career development opportunities.

Projects must be a 501(c)3 nonprofit, school or government entity and serve residents in Benton, Stearns, and Sherburne counties.

Preference will be given to organizations with an annual budget of $500,000 or less.
