Planning Commission Holding Another Public Hearing On ADUs
ST. CLOUD (WJON News) -- The Planning Commission will hold another public hearing on allowing Accessory Dwelling Units.
The St. Cloud Planning and Zoning Department wants to amend the Land Development Code to allow for the units on all residentially zoned one and two-family properties.
They say at least 12 Minnesota cities already allow these units.
Some of the recommended restrictions include the property owner must be either in the main dwelling or in the ADU, the rental unit has to be licensed with the city, short-term rentals will not be allowed, the ADUs must be in the back yard, they have to match the main home, and they must provide at least one off-street parking space.
The Planning Commission has had prior discussions on accessory dwelling units in April and May.
