ST. CLOUD -- The St. Cloud Technical and Community College baseball team will advance after beating Anoka-Ramsey and Riverland in the NJCAA Regional Tournament yesterday (Friday).

In the first game -- against Anoka-Ramsey -- the Cyclones (34-7) were led offensively by designated hitter Mitchell Keeler, who went 3-for-3 with a double, home run and driving in three runs. First baseman Isaac Matchinsky added two hits and an RBI.

Starter Logan Sandgren improved to 7-0 by holding Anoka-Ramsey to just two runs on two hits in 5 2/3 innings in the 4-2 win.

In the second game -- against Riverland -- second baseman David Vasquez led the offense with three hits in four at-bats and two RBI. Catcher Fabio Gutierrez and shortstop Ismael Martinez also drove in two runs in the 8-4 victory.

With the wins, the Cyclones will advance to play Rainy River College, first pitch is at noon at Dick Putz Field in St. Cloud.
