ST. CLOUD — You won't be disappointed this weekend as there is a lot of great things to do around Central Minnesota. Enjoy some German traditions at the 2nd annual Maibock Festival at Beaver Island Brewing, go for a run at the Mississippi Move and Groove 5/10K, hear the musical sounds of Carpe Diem, watch some football at St. John's University with the Granite City Renegades, and enjoy some rock and roll performed by local musician Mick Sterling at Pioneer Place. Maibock Fest
Beaver Island Brewing CompanyGet into the German spirit and make your way to Beaver Island Brewing this weekend for the Second Annual Maibock Festival. The afternoon consists of German food, games, beer, and live music featuring authentic German music. The event runs Saturday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Beaver Island parking lot. This is a rain or shine event but still dress appropriately. Tickets are $14 in advance and $20 at the door.

Mississippi Move & Grove 5/10K
Sauk RapidsDust off your running shoes and take in the fresh Spring air this weekend along the Mississippi River. The St. Cloud YMCA is holding another Bernick's Family Fitness Series with their Mississippi Move & Groove 5/10K. You and your family are encourage to walk, run, blade, skip or bike the route along the river. Sign up is just $5 for individuals and $10 for families (family price limited to 4 participants). The 1K kids fun run starts at 8:30 a.m. with the 5/10K starting at 8:45 a.m.

Sweets and Strings: Carpe Diem
Whitney Senior CenterEnjoy the sounds of a wonderful string quartet performing in St. Cloud tomorrow (Friday). Carpe Diem has earned widespread acclaim for its innovative and electrifying performances. Their music includes classical, gypsy, tango, folk, pop, rock and jazz. Tickets are just $7 and can be found at the Whitney Senior Center. Showtime starts at 10:00 a.m.

Armed Forces Day Classic
St. John's UniversityAre you ready for some football?! The Granite City Renegades are back for another season and are at home this weekend for their 7th Annual Armed Forces Classic game. The team will face the Midwest Outlaws at Clemens Stadium at St. John's University. Kick off is set for 5:00 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are only $10 at the gate.

Mick Sterling: Heart of Rock and Roll
Pioneer PlaceFor one night only one of America's great rock and roll bands will come to life on the Pioneer Place stage. Mick Sterling will be paying tribute to Huey Lewis with his Heart of Rock and Roll show tomorrow (Friday) night. You will hear such classics as "Heart of Rock & Roll," "Hip to Be Square" and many more. Tickets for the show are $28 in advance and $32 at the door. Showtime starts at 7:30 p.m.
