The Weekender is here serving up some tasty weekend treats. There's a street dance, the art fest season kicks off, and kids can dig up some fossils. Saturday is National Peach Pie Day, and National Waffle Day, and Sunday is National Banana Split Day too so treat yourself to something sweet and sticky with lots of syrup courtesy of The Weekender. Mill Stream Art Festival
St. JosephRegional artists take over downtown St. Joseph for the 18th Annual Mill Stream Art Festival. There will be pottery, jewelry, fiber, glass, wood and more. There is also music all day with Leslie Vincent, AJ Spoff, and Chico Chavez Orchestra. Plus the Book End with literary activities by local authors and poets. The event is FREE to attend.

Street Dance
RockvilleIt’s time to cut footloose at the Rockville Area Sportsman Club’s 50th Anniversary celebration Street Dance. The group Radio Nation will be providing the music from 7:00 – 11:00 p.m. There will a burger stand by the Rockville Lion’s Club, a minnow race, a meat raffle, face painting, kids’ crafts, and a fishing rod giveaway. FREE to attend.

Airshow
PaynesvilleHead over to Paynesville to see some exciting aerobatics with the Friends of the Paynesville Airport Airshow. Kyle Franklin, Galen Killian, Paul Lindeman and other pilots will perform gravity-defying stunts. There will be concessions, a beer garden, vendors, and rides available throughout the day. Gates open at 9:00 a.m. with the show starting at 1:00 p.m. FREE to attend.

Mario Party 5 Tournament
Waite ParkRemember the days of video games past with a Mario Party 5 Tournament at Back Shed Brewing. Play as your favorite character in the main board game style match and in numerous mini-games. You can be Mario, Luigi, Peach, Wario, Toad, Yoshi, Daisy, Koopa Kid and more. Plus MP 5 introduced the Super Duel mode with custom battle vehicles. The tourney will be played on the Game Cube system and is FREE to take part in. Have a cold beverage and some pizza while you are there and don’t be the player to get the pitty coin at the end.

Dino Dig
St. CloudKids ages 4-6 can step back in time with St. Cloud State professors at Wilson Park for the Dino Dig. Children will learn how gigantic or tiny dinosaurs were in a mini fossil dig. They will have a great time studying fossils, participating in hands-on experiments, and more. It is limited to 25 kids so pre-registration is required. There is also a Fossil Explorers version for kids 7 – 10 years old. FREE to Attend.
