St. Cloud Sushi Restaurant Under Construction, to Open in June

ST. CLOUD -- A new Asian and sushi restaurant is opening in St. Cloud next month.

Hajime Asian Bistro will be at 4170 West Division Street in the strip mall with Erbert & Gerbert's, Sleep Number and the United States Post Office. The restaurant is currently under construction.

General Manager and Co-Owner Michael Nguyen helps manage the company's two other locations in Blaine and Elk River. He says because of St. Cloud's growing community they have chosen it for their next restaurant location.

"St. Cloud is a growing city, there's not too many family owned restaurants around here, there's a lot of franchises."

Nguyen says sushi is the bistro's most popular menu item but they have much more than just sushi.

"We're known for our sushi but we also have other entrees, filet mignon, chicken hibachi, we don't have the hibachi tables, we just make it in the kitchen and it's much faster."

The St. Cloud City Council approved the restaurant's request for a liquor license earlier this week. Nguyen says they will have a full bar and well as a happy hour during the week.

Hajime Asian Bistro is expected to open by mid-June.
