Several New Solar Lamps Vandalized in Sartell

SARTELL - Several solar lamps were recently vandalized in Sartell.

Sartell Police say the public works department installed the lamps on Friday along the pedestrian path between city hall and Bernicks Arena. The department wanted to test them to see if they would be a good fit for other pedestrian paths in the community.

Sometime between Friday night and early Saturday, someone broke the lamps and took the solar housing from the top. The cost for the solar lamps was $800.

Police say that the people involved in the incident have since been identified and admitted to damaging the lights.
