UPDATE: Former Sauk Rapids Mayor Honored As ‘Citizen Of The Year’ [AUDIO, PHOTOS]
SAUK RAPIDS - The 28th annual Sauk Rapids Citizen Of The Year was honored today (Monday). This year's honoree is former mayor Mark Campbell. He says it means a lot to him to receive the award.
He says he started doing volunteer work when his kids were in school.
Campbell served on the city's Planning Commission for seven years, the school board for five years, and was the mayor for six years.
During his time as mayor, he help guide the city through the Sauk Rapids bridge project, the reconstruction of Benton Drive, the creation of the quiet zone, and the initial construction of the new Government Center.
