SAUK RAPIDS - Sauk Rapids' Mayor has announced his resignation.  During last (Monday) night's council meeting Mark Campbell told his fellow council members he'll step down on July 1st.

He says he's dealt with chronic health issues since 1992, and he wanted to focus on his health and his family.

City Administrator Ross Olson says, because Campbell has less than two years left in his term, the City Council has several options for filling the Mayor's seat: they could choose to hold a special election, they could appoint someone that's already on the council, or they could appoint a community member.
