Bri’s Lodges Asks: Please ‘Pass The Mug’ For Those Grieving This Thanksgiving
GRIEF CAN BE DIFFICULT AT THANKSGIVING
Through this holiday season, I know that it is meant to be a holiday that brings family and friends together to celebrate life and togetherness, and gratitude. But for some who have experienced extreme loss of a loved one, this holiday can be especially hard.
A good friend of mine shared a story with me several years ago about losing her beautiful daughter unexpectedly. Her grief was so great that she couldn't find her way through the dark.
She recognized the need in central Minnesota for a place to find hope and help, and started a wonderful organization called Bri's Lodge. She has a special message for you this holiday season.
A SPECIAL MESSAGE FOR THOSE WHO ARE GRIEVING
'This Thanksgiving, my heart is filled with gratitude, but also with the ache of losing my beautiful daughter, BriAnna. It's been a journey I never thought I'd take, but one that has led me to a profound understanding of the importance of community and support.
Losing BriAnna was like losing a part of myself. The grief was overwhelming, and I felt so alone. But as I began to connect with others who had experienced a similar loss, I realized that I wasn't alone. And that realization sparked a desire in me to create a space where others could find comfort, support, and community.
That's why we founded Bri's Lodge, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support and resources to those grieving the loss of a loved one. Our mission is simple: to ensure that no one in our community grieves alone.
For those who have experienced a significant loss, you understand the weight of grief and the toll the holidays can take on your heart. The lights, the laughter, and the joy can feel overwhelming, and the silence can feel deafening. But I want you to know that you're not alone. We see you, we hear you, and we're here to support you.
Over the years, I've been amazed by the kindness and generosity of our community. Through your support, we've been able to create a safe and supportive space for those who are grieving. We've been able to provide essential services and programs, and we've begun the process of removing the stigma surrounding mental health and grief. Thank you for all that you have done to help us get where we are today. Your contributions, big or small, have made a significant impact on our organization.
TO THOSE WHO HAVEN'T EXPERIENCED LOSS.....YET
But I also want to acknowledge those who may not have experienced a significant loss... yet. No one is exempt from the pain of grief, and you may need our services sooner than you think. That's why we're committed to being here for you, whenever you need us.
We are reminded of Emily's journey, who lost her husband suddenly last year. Overwhelmed with grief, she felt isolated and alone, struggling to find meaning in everyday tasks. But when she found Bri's Lodge, she discovered a safe space to share her story, connect with others who understood her pain, and find solace in their collective support. Through our support groups and companion sessions, Emily slowly began to rebuild her life, finding comfort in the shared experiences and guidance of our compassionate companions.
HELP US REACH OUR GOAL
As a volunteer-based organization, we rely on people like you to help us reach our goals. On Thanksgiving Day, we're asking you to "pass the mug" around the family table and consider making a tax-deductible donation to Bri's Lodge. Every gift counts:
$25: Healing Resources - Book and journal set for one grieving individual
$50: Healing Session - One hour of one-to-one grief support or sensory healing workshop
$100: Path to Healing - Two sessions of one-to-one grief support
$250: Comprehensive Care - 12-session closed support group participation
And here's the exciting part: thanks to a generous match from Thrivent Financial, for every $2 you donate, $1 will be matched up to $10,000! Our goal is to raise $20,000, and we need your help to get there.
CONSIDER MAKING A DONATION
Please consider making a donation today. Your support will help us provide essential services and programs to those who are grieving. Your gift will be a lifeline to those who are drowning in grief and will help us create a community where everyone feels supported, comforted, and loved.
Remember, it's okay to not be okay. Let's work together to create a community where everyone feels supported, comforted, and loved.
Thank you again for being part of our community, and for considering a donation to Bri's Lodge. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those who are grieving.
If you have any questions or would like to learn more, please don't hesitate to send us a message. We'll have someone available today to answer your questions and provide more information.' Tami Kruzel
