Arthur “Art” Fischer, 80, Jacobs Prairie

August 27, 1935 – May 2, 2016

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016 at St. James Catholic Church in Jacobs Prairie, MN for Arthur “Art” Fischer, age 80, who died Monday at the St. Cloud Hospital surrounded by his family. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery.

Relatives and Friends may call from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning at the church.

Art was born in Avon, MN to Peter and Eleanor (Schmitt) Fischer. He married Kathleen Schlangen on September 11, 1956 in Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marty, MN. Art loved farming, tractors, and animals; especially raising black angus cows and polka dancing down the barn aisle. He especially enjoyed spending time with his loyal dog, Duke. Art was a member of St. James Parish.

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen; daughter, Joyce (Don) Salzer and their children, Jeremy Salzer, Luke (Brenda) Salzer and Katie (Jason) Okerstrom; daughter, Sue (Randy) Reischl and their children, Amanda (Scott) Caird, Nicole Reischl (Ryan Fischer), Adam Reischl (Ali Schwinghammer); great-grandchildren, Zack and Garrett Okerstrom, Madison and McKenzie Loch, Gavin Salzer, Rodney and Jacob Salzer, and Britta Caird.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Jacob Salzer.

Arrangements are with the Wenner Funeral Home, Cold Spring.
