Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30AM Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids for William “Bill” P. Shiek, 77, of Sauk Rapids who died Friday, January 9, 2015 at Quiet Oaks Hospice House in St. Augusta. Rev. Daniel Walz will officiate and burial will be in Annunciation Cemetery, Mayhew Lake. Friends and relatives may call from 4:00-8:00PM Monday, January 12, 2015 at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids and one hour prior to services at church on Tuesday.

Bill was born November 27, 1937 in Avon to George and Lucille (Raden) Shiek. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Bill married Joyce Schueller on June 22, 1961 at Sacred Heart Church in Sauk Rapids. The couple was married for over 20 years until Joyce’s death on June 1, 1983. He later married Shirley Kern on March 28, 1992 at Annunciation Catholic Church in Mayhew Lake. Bill worked for St. Cloud Window for many years, working his way up to Foreman and Designer. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids and was very involved in his church. Bill was also a member of the 1st degree Knights of Columbus and was awarded the “Knight of the Year.” He was a kind, accepting, generous family man; who loved children and was a big kid at heart. Bill enjoyed tinkering on cars, watching stock cars at the local track, and weekly golf outings with his friends. He enjoyed woodworking, crossword puzzles and Snickers Bars.

Bill is survived by his wife of 23 years, Shirley of Sauk Rapids; children, Sherry (Ken) Schwarzkopf of Clear Lake, Mike Shiek of Gilman, Donna Shiek of Sauk Rapids, Pat (Debbie) Shiek of Waite Park, Sandy Shiek of Verndale, Rani (Dan) Melby of North Oaks, Catherine (Wayne) Frisbie of Clear Lake; siblings, Tom Shiek of Wayzata, Audrey (Andy) Andrus of San Raphael, CA, Gary (Kathie) Shiek of Osseo, Mary (Dale) Denny of Sauk Rapids, Kevin (Jane) Shiek of Anoka, Denise (Butch) Rossman of Sauk Rapids, Randy Shiek of Dublin, CA; sister-in-law, Jane Shiek of Sauk Rapids; 17 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 9 step grandchildren/great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce; grandsons, Jeremy Shiek and Patrick Jr. Shiek; siblings, Lyle Shiek and Georgia Hetrick.

Memorials are preferred to St. Benedict’s Center or Quiet Oaks Hospice House.
