ST. CLOUD -- St. Cloud's half cent sales tax collections are down by an estimated $150-thousand after WalMart and Sam's Club moved to Sartell last fall.

St. Cloud Finance Director John Norman says it is impacting how they look to fund projects moving forward.

Sartell is estimated to gain an average of $125-thousand.

Norman says the recession didn't help either with revenues down over the last three years. Even so, St. Cloud is projected to take in just over $4.3-million on 2011 while Sartell's collections are projected to be just under $760-thousand.
