Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 2, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, for Virgil B. Eichers, 92, of St. Cloud, formerly of Cold Spring, who died August 28, 2014. The Reverend Matthew Luft, OSB will officiate. Entombment will be in the St. Boniface Parish Cemetery Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM on Tuesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring. Funeral arrangements are with the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud.

Virgil was born on October 5, 1921, in Cold Spring, MN, to Leo and Hedwig (Leither) Eichers. He served in the US Army during WWII. Leo married Irene M. (Tiemans) Marx on June 2, 1973, in St. Peter’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud. He farmed in the Cold Spring area most of his life. Leo and Irene lived in Cold Spring until 1994 when they moved to Sartell. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.

Virgil is survived by: children Marcella Thielen of St. Cloud, Kathleen Supplee of Duluth, Albin (Elizabeth) Marx of Oceanside, CA, George (Beverly) Marx of Nisswa, Dennis (Kim) Marx of Albertville, Pauline Marx of Tiburon, CA; 18 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; sister Florence Rausch.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Irene, brothers and sisters: Elmer, Harold, Mary Gertken, Ted, Leona Theisen, Dan, 2 infant brothers, and grandson Tom Thielen.

Memorials are preferred.
