MORRISON COUNTY - Two people were arrested and over 15 grams of methamphetamine were found by Morrison County Sheriff's Deputies on Wednesday.

At about 9:45 p.m. the Sheriff's Department responded to Sage Road in Mt. Morris Township by Hillman for a suspicious vehicle complaint.

Deputies found a vehicle stuck on the west side of the road and two people who were uncooperative and acting suspiciously.

The Sheriff's Office says 42-year-old Vicki Daufelt from Elk River, was arrested for a drug offense warrant out of Wright County. Deputies also found 4.8 grams of meth in her purse. 42-year-old Branden Daufelt from Elk River, was also arrested for aiding an offender and obstructing the legal process.

A search warrant was used on the vehicle, where deputies found 11.66 additional grams of meth.

The case has been forwarded to the County Attorney's Office for charges.

In a news release, Sheriff Shawn Larsen urges the public to continue reporting suspicious activity.

"This is a case where the public's help was instrumental and led to the arrest and seizure of over 15 grams of methampheramine," the news release says.
