Remember – this Saturday is “Shop Small Saturday” across the nation. It’s a day set aside to give a little extra love and attention to the small businesses in your hometown. If you feel the need to get up and move around after the big feast on Thursday, get some steps in at all the local businesses – they’re all doing something special for “Shop Small Saturday’.

Be our guest this holiday season for this “tale as old as time” based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature. Disney’s Beauty and the Beast tells the story of Belle, a bright and independent young woman, who stumbles upon a secluded castle and is taken prisoner by a beast who is really a prince under a curse. With the help of singing teapots, clocks, and candlesticks, she breaks the spell and frees the prince with a simple act of love. The whole family will be enchanted by this spectacular production, featuring spellbinding songs, imaginative costumes and sets, and, of course, a fairy-tale ending.

Downtown St. CloudThe one-day celebration of everything small business returns the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
Shop Small Saturday was created in 2010 by American Express to help support small businesses during the Great Recession. Since then, it’s grown to an annual event that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce estimates will generate $184 billion in sales.
The St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce says businesses across Central Minnesota will participate in the event, offering specials and discounts to bring shoppers into their shops.
Shop Small Saturday has become an annual event on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The event is observed in all 50 states, and the U.S. Senate passed a resolution recognizing the event. - Photo by Mike Arney on Unsplash
