ST. CLOUD -- The St. Cloud Fire Department extinguished a couple fires.

They were called to a duplex fire at about 8:45 p.m. last (Tuesday) night on 32nd Avenue North.

The fire started in a bathroom from a discarded cigarette.  The fire was contained to the bathroom, but there was smoke damage throughout the home.  No one was injured.  The damage estimate is about $30,000.

And a fire was reported at the Highland Apartments in Southeast St. Cloud at about 12:45 a.m. this (Wednesday) morning.

The fire damage was limited to one apartment unit, but there was also smoke damage in the hall.  The building's sprinkler system contained the fire.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.  No one was hurt.
