Roundabout Planned for Heritage Drive/River Road in Sartell

SARTELL -- Plans are in the works to improve traffic flow along Heritage Drive and Stearns County Road 1 in Sartell.

County Engineer Jodi Teich says the project includes a roundabout at that intersection.

Teich says next spring, MnDOT will add additional turn lanes from Highway 15 onto County Road 1. Stearns County will then add lanes on County Road 1 up to the roundabout at Heritage Drive.

Teich says the city also wanted improved access from the businesses on LeSauk Drive, so they will will tie-in Evergreen Drive behind G-Allens Bar to add a 5th leg into the roundabout.

Teich says they are in the design stages now and are working with affected property owners to secure the necessary right-of-way.

The project is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2016.
