Rolf Altena, 77, St. Cloud (formerly of Bayfield, WI)

February 10, 1938 - March 3, 2015

A Celebration of Life and Friendship will be from 3:00-6:00PM Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the Bayfield Inn, 20 Rittenhouse Ave, Bayfield, WI 54814 for Rolf Altena, 77, who died Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at his home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, St. Cloud.

Rolf was born February 10, 1938 in Bochum, Germany to Otto and Hilde Altena. He immigrated to the United States in 1964 from Germany. Rolf married his best friend, Helga Fehlauer, on February 15, 1965 in New York City. The couple lived most of their married life in Glenville, Connecticut until 1997 when they moved to Bayfield, Wisconsin. In 2014 the couple made their last move to St. Cloud to be closer to family. He worked at General Electric as the North East Regional Salesman for 35 years until his retirement. Rolf enjoyed sailing, traveling to Germany every year, and most of all spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed.

Rolf is survived by his wife of 50 years, Helga of St. Cloud; son, Eric of Sauk Rapids; grandson, Braden of Sauk Rapids; sisters, Doris Loque of Spain, and Birgette (Ansgar) Fuerst of Freiburg, Germany. He was preceded in death by his parents.
