ANOKA (AP) - A Rochester man is accused of using a needle and syringe to squirt his own blood at nurses at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids.

Twenty-year-old Keagan Lee Johnson-Lloyd is charged with multiple counts of terrorists threats. A criminal complaint says police were called to the hospital last Saturday where Johnson-Lloyd was patient in the chemical dependency unit. The complaint says nurses told officers a visitor had given Johnson-Lloyd a syringe and needle, possibly filled with heroin.

After the visitor left, the complaint says the defendant began to act erratically and used the syringe and needle to draw blood from himself and squirt a number of nurses. Other staff members told police Johnson-Lloyd tried to stab them with the needle.

It wasn't immediately clear if Johnson-Lloyd has retained an attorney.
