SARTELL -- The city of Sartell is getting a new traffic light. The city has reached an agreement with Kwik Trip, Inc. and Stearns County to erect a traffic signal at the intersection of County Roads 133 and 78 just west of the Mississippi River Bridge.

Kwik Trip is planning on building a new convenience store on the north side of County Road 133 and has asked for the traffic light. County traffic counts show a traffic light at that intersection is warranted.

Under the agreement, Kwik Trip will pay half the cost and pay Stearns County's and Sartell's share up front to get it built in 2016. The county and city will pay the convenience store chain back for its shares in 2017.
