My Great Vacation at Lake Winnie [PICTURES]

Pictured above, are some of my family that went on our yearly week vacation to Lake Winnie in Deer River Minnesota.  (Left front to back:  Austin, Samantha & Austin.  Right Front to back: Brandon, Trina, Jake and John.)  We're all enjoying a great fish fry from our weekly combined catch of walleye, perch and northerns.

This is the view from our cabin at the Northland Lodge.  The weather couldn't have been any better. We started off with clear skies, and temperatures were in the high 70's the entire week.

Pictured above, Todd Johnson is getting our boys ready for fishing.  Tanner, sitting in the front in the striped jacket, Mason lee standing next to him, and Todd in the back. Colton our dock boy,  on the dock wearing blue, was incredibly helpful and friendly.

Every year, my father Dennis Sr. makes his secret batter, and takes about three hours preparing all the fish for the fish fry. Not only that, he cleans all of the fish for everyone! He's got it down to a science now...No one makes better fish that dad.

This little cuty pie was enjoying the great outdoors. Sawyer was all smiles, climbing, playing in the dirt, singing and talking. Sleep?  Sawyer?  Those two words never meet.

In all the years that I've fished at Lake Winnie, this was the best. In two days, I caught 7 northerns,  and several perch.  I can't believe I'm actually holding these slimy northerns. It was a blast catching them. They put up a good fight!
