Hunters; Shotgun Shells Are Hard to Find
Early season goose and teal hunting opens Saturday in Minnesota. Glen Schmitt from Outdoor News joined me on WJON today. He says ammunition supplies are still a problem for hunters. Schmitt suggests to hunters that if they see the shells they plan on using for this fall which includes deer hunting to grab those.
Fishing Popularity Still High in Minnesota [PODCAST]
Last year during the pandemic fishing license sales were at an all time high. Glen Schmitt from Outdoor News joined me on WJON this week. He says license sales this year were about the same as last year. Glen thinks many people got back into fishing last year and those have stuck with it this year.

He says fishing early in the day and in the evening will offer most success fishing right now. Glen says that will also give people the best temperatures on the lake.
Schmitt; Fishing License Sales Up 5% [PODCAST]
The walleye fishing opener was last Saturday in Minnesota. Glen Schmitt from Outdoor News joined me on WJON Thursday. He says the opener wasn't as good for fishing as past openers in large part due to the weather. The DNR says fishing license sales are up this year by 5% from last year despite the high popularity of fishing last year due to the pandemic.
Biking, Fishing, Golf Big Hits in Minnesota [PODCAST]
Alyssa Hayes from Explore Minnesota joined me on WJON today. She says Minnesotans turned to biking, hiking, fishing and golf more than anything else this summer with Covid-19 changing some of our habits. She says many resorts and camp ground also saw an increase in revenue compared to last year.
