Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Marie L. Janssen (Stang), 84, of St. Cloud will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 28, 2016 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud.

Marie passed away peacefully with family by her side on Monday, October 24, 2016 at Country Manor Health Care and Retirement Center, Sartell. Reverend Gregory Lieser will officiate. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Parish Cemetery, Sartell.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 9:30 a.m. on Friday at the church. Parish prayers will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Marie was born on October 27, 1931 in St. Cloud to the late Joseph and Lena (Rassier) Stang. She married Benedict J. Janssen on November 8, 1950 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sartell. They farmed in Watkins prior to moving to St. Cloud in 1958. Marie was employed as a supervisor for Fingerhut for many years. She then went on to become a district leader with Tupperware. After retiring from Tupperware, Marie became very active volunteering with St. Peter’s Parish and Catholic Charities. She was a member of St. Peter’s Parish, the Daughters of Isabella, the Crosier Apostolate and the Knights of Columbus Council #5548 Ladies Auxiliary.
Marie loved making crafts, playing cards, socializing, fishing, camping, Country Manor senior trips and treasured time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Rose (Ed) Sodergren of Edina, Fran (Jim) Kunkel of Motley, Roger (Grace) of Monticello, Evelyn (Conrad) Bieniek of Bowlus, Delores Wigger of Charleston, SC, Joan (Craig) Bielat of Maple Grove; 20 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Janssen of Brooklyn Park; sisters, Valeria Kraemer of New Hope, Josie Meyer of St. Joseph, Carol Trautz of Waite Park, Dolores (Gerald) Crowell of Hubertus, WI; sisters-in-law, Renee Stang, Geri Stang, Kay Stang and Veronica Janssen; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ben in 2007; son, Joe in 2012; brothers, Victor, Roman, Al, Willie and Sy Stang.

Marie’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Country Manor Campus, St. Cloud Hospital and CentraCare Hospice for their professional and compassionate care.

Memorials are preferred.
