Margarete Hansen, 89, Cold Spring

October 10, 1925 – March 30, 2015

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 a.m., Monday, April 6, 2015 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Margarete Hansen, age 89, who died Monday at her home. Burial will be in the MN State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.

Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Sunday, April 5th at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring. Visitation will continue from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m., Monday morning at the funeral home.

Margarete was born in Niedernberg, Germany, to Heinrich and Elizabeth Korn. She married Willie Hansen on February 1, 1949 in St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring. Margarete enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing cards, traveling back to Germany to visit family and friends, bargains, dancing and German Music. She was a member of St. Boniface Parish and Catholic United Financial.

Survivors include her children, Robert of Cold Spring, Betty (Mark) Philippi of St. Cloud, Mary Lou (John) Klaers of Willmar, Rosie McClenahan (Bob Hegstrom) of Cold Spring, Alen (Patricia Sundland) of St. Cloud, Michael of Cold Spring, Lorraine (Gabe) Schmitz of Cold Spring, Bernice (Kurt) Kunkel of Luxemburg; 22 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie (2012); and 5 siblings.
