Memorial Services will be held Saturday June 24th at Long Prairie Assembly of God church for Laurie J. Priebe, age 62, who passed away Thursday at Cedar Cove Assisted Living in Sauk Centre. Service will begin at 11 a.m. with one hour visitation before the service.

Laurie was born June 6, 1954 in Park Rapids to Jerald & Audrey (Milbradt) Nagle. She moved to Babbitt, MN in 1955 with her family. Laurie’s mother passed away in 1964. They moved back to Park Rapids until the loss of her father at age 12 in 1967. After the loss of her beloved parents Laurie went to live with her Godparents, aunt and uncle, Wilfred and Lorraine Kreklau of Sebeka, MN. She graduated from Sebeka High School in 1972. She went to Alexandria Tech School where she met Allen Priebe from Slayton, MN. Laurie married Allen November 23, 1973. They lived in Slayton, MN until 1978 when they moved to Long Prairie, MN. Al worked for UBC Lumber and at Camp Ripley Army National Guard. Laurie worked at Pizza Hut in Sauk Centre and as a stay at home mom. They divorced in 1986. Later in her life Laurie worked as a Nurse’s Aide at the Long Prairie Nursing Home for over 15 years. She moved to Cedar Cove Assisted Living, Sauk Centre, in 2012.

Laurie was a member of Long Prairie Assembly of God Church where she was involved in Bible study groups and serving in many ways, especially the prayer chain.

Laurie enjoyed cooking, baking, card games, board games, scrapbooking, and loved canning with her family. She appreciated everyone and gave generously even when she didn’t have a lot. Laurie was a very caring woman who loved the Lord with all her heart.
Laurie is survived by her children, Bonnie (Josh) Johnson of Swanville and Charles (Jessica) Priebe of Marshall; sister, Sherry (Ralph) Johnson of Aurora, MN; grandchildren, Isaac, Jasmine, Emily and Rachel Johnson, Carter, Owen, Payton and Elijah Priebe niece, Becky (Jason) Elko; nephew, Steven (Nicole) Johnson; and great nieces and nephew. Laurie was preceded in death by her parents.
