The St. John's University hockey team earned a tie with Bethel on Saturday but walked away with the MIAC extra point.

Bethel scored the only goals of the first period, taking a 2-0 lead. The Johnnies rallied in the second with shots made by Ryan Kero and Auggie Moore.

Bethel answered by netting their third, but Moore scored his second of the game to tie things up 3-3. That score stood through the final period and extra time, but Travis Brown earned the MIAC extra point for SJU. Mac Berglove made 29 saves and allowed three goals.

The Johnnies are now 1-0-2 overall and 1-0-1 MIAC. They will host UW-Stevens Point on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
