Jerome G. “Jerry” Falzone, 75, Long Prairie

February 22, 1939 - December 22, 2014

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Long Prairie for Jerome G. “Jerry” Falzone, age 75, of Long Prairie who passed away on Monday at his home. Fr. Kenneth Riedemann will officiate and burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Long Prairie. Family and friends may call from 4-8 pm on Friday and after 8 am Saturday at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home – Stein Chapel, Long Prairie. Parish prayers will take place at 7 pm Friday in the funeral home.

Jerry was born February 22, 1939 in Pierre, South Dakota, the son of Mauriece and Evelyn (Hoffman) Falzone. He grew up and attended country school near Milesville, South Dakota and later graduated from Strugis High School. He then attended Glendale Community College for one year. He farmed near Milesville and served in the Army National Guard. Jerry married Arlene Herden on September 26, 1964 in Waukegan, IL. In 1966, they moved to a farm in Little Sauk Township where he farmed until retiring in 2004.

Jerry was a member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. He served on the Stearns Electric Board of Directors for 15 years. He enjoyed hunting, ice fishing, and going to the casino. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Arlene, Long Prairie; children, Dorrine (Rocky) Husom, Long Prairie; Michael (Tanya) Falzone, Osakis; and Matthew (Karrie) Falzone, Long Prairie; siblings, Floren (Debbie) Falzone, Philip, SD; and Sharon (Larry) Colborn, Elk, WA; also nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his uncle Lawrence.

Casket bearers will be Leymoyne Bosl, Peter Jager, Tom Hiebert, Arlan Bjorstrom, Chad Bjorstom, and Bob Volkman. Honorary pallbearers will be Ardean Christiansen, Andy Wiegers, Jeremy Miller, Riley Gritz, Marchello Falzone, and Riece Falzone.
