Jennie L. Schaefer, 94, St. Cloud

December 21, 1920 - May 3, 2015

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday May 7, 2015 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sartell for Jennie L. Schaefer, age 94, who passed away Sunday at St. Benedicts Senior Community in St. Cloud. Rev. Timothy Baltes will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be one prior to the services at the church on Thursday. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids.

Jennie was born Dec. 21, 1920 in Sartell to Delos & Irene (Beverage) Staneart. She grew up in Sartell where she lived most of her life. She married Alex Schaefer on October 25, 1939 in St. Cloud and they later divorced. She lived with her daughter, Lou Ann in St. Joe until moving to St. Benedicts in 2013. Jennie worked as a house keeping aid at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home for 19 years, retiring in 1992. She considered herself very simple and enjoyed crossword puzzles, cross stich, and reading the Bible. Jennie loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and also spending time on the farm. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church of Sartell.

Survivors include her children, Alex Jr. (Lynda) of St. Cloud, John (Karen) of Sartell, Farron (Cindy) of St. Cloud, Delbert of Dawson and Lou Ann (Mike) Simon of St. Joseph; sisters and brother, Mabel Wilhelm of St. Cloud, Wallace Staneart of Richmond and Alice Skaja of Foley; 17 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Mary; son, Jerry; brothers, Emerson, Clark, Frank, David, Clarence; and sisters, Doris, Anna, and Mary Lou.
