
$100K Bail for Suspect in Rochester Sextortion Case
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Bail has been set at $100,000 for a Louisiana man charged in a Rochester sextortion\ case.
Eighteen-year-old Devin Luke Romero was booked into the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center on Friday and was formally arraigned in Olmsted County court on charges of use of minors in pornographic work, possession of child pornography, and two counts of soliciting a child to engage in a sexual act.
Arrest Warrant Issued Earlier This Month
Court records indicate that an arrest warrant for Romero was issued on March 12.

The criminal complaint alleges that Romero initiated an online conversation with a young girl and demanded that she send him sexually explicit photos of herself. He is also accused of threatening to leak her address after she initially refused his request.
Young Victim Delivered Sexually Explicit Photos to Him
The court document states that the victim sent Romero three sexually explicit photos of herself. It is alleged that he then threatened to send the photos and the victim's username to others unless the victim continued to supply him with sexually explicit images.
Victim Under Age of 9
According to the criminal complaint, the young victim initially told Romero that she was 17 years old but later indicated she was 14 years old. The court document indicates the girl is actually under the age of 9.
Additional Victims?
According to the charges, investigators learned that Romero had been chatting on Snapchat with at least three other people who claimed they were girls under the age of 16. He is also accused of demanding sexually explicit photos from them.
Romero's next court appearance is scheduled for April.
