St. Cloud Man Reports Assault During Twin Cities Protest

A St. Cloud man alleges he was assaulted today by another protester while demonstrating near the Whipple Building. The incident, which was also on video, seems to show another protestor engaging with the St. Cloud man, following him for a few minutes, and then hitting the man in the leg with a cane, bending the cane in the process.

Zak X Hit With Cane

St. Cloud digital creator Zak X, was in the Twin Cities today near the Whipple Building, exercising his 1st amendment right to assemble and protest, when he was allegedly assaulted by another protestor.

The incident happens around the 2:20 mark of the video below, which shows another protestor who earlier asked Zak X if 'he liked punching people' after other protestors recognized Zak X from another incident caught on video that showed him punching another protestor in December.

X told the group of people that he was there to peacefully protest and was not looking to incite violence.

The protestor who asked X if he 'liked punching people' began to follow X as he was walking away. X tried to make light of the situation, asking to take a 'selfie' with the other protestor when he was struck in the leg by the man's cane.

The man was then seen on video holding the cane, which was then bent from what appeared to be the impact on X.

Hennepin County Deputies Told X To Call In The Alleged Assault

X attempted to report the assault to a deputy on site, but was told to call in about the assault.

X claimed online that he called in the assault, wanting to make a report, but had not heard back from Hennepin County for 'hours'.
