Have you noticed that your child loves to get lost in playtime, acting out their favorite Disney characters, or singing and dancing while they watch their favorite movies at home?

Great Theatre in St. Cloud has officially opened registration for its 2026 Summer Camp season, and it’s shaping up to be another incredible opportunity for kids ages 4 through high school to find their place, whether that’s center stage or behind the scenes.

GREAT THEATER WILL BE OFFERING 56 DIFFERENT SUMMER CAMPS IN 2026

This year, Great Theater is offering 56 different camps. From light-hearted, imaginative programs for younger students to more focused, skill-building programs for teens, there really is something for everyone.

And honestly, I love that they start as young as 4! Do you remember pretending to be someone as a kid? Or acting and pretending you ran a store? Were you a waiter or waitress in a restaurant? Or maybe you pretended to serve Dairy Queen treats out of your playhouse window like I did when I was a kid. Theater takes all of that play and gives them a place where they can flourish and grow.

A PLACE WHERE EVERYONE BELONGS

Not every child signs up dreaming of Broadway. Some are curious. Some are shy. Some just need a place to belong. And that’s where programs like this matter so much. Theater quietly builds confidence in ways that stick for a lifetime. It teaches kids how to speak up, how to work together, and how to take a chance, even if their voice shakes a little at first.

WHAT CAN YOUR KIDS LEARN FROM BEING A PART OF GREAT THEATER?

Students can learn so many different things from being involved in a theater production, like:

  • Figuring out how to run sound for the first time
  • Discovering they want to create costumes
  • Memorization skills
  • Choreography skills
  • Acting
  • Singing
  • Teamwork
  • Building confidence
  • Problem-solving
  • Making connections and lasting friendships

A PLACE WHERE KIDS CAN BE THEMSELVES AND HAVE FUN WHILE LEARNING

In a world where kids are often glued to screens or feeling pressure to fit into a certain mold, theater offers something different. It permits them to be loud, to be silly, to be emotional, to be creative, and to be themselves.

ALL CAMPS ARE DAY CAMPS

These are all-day camps, which means kids really get immersed in the experience. Learning, creating, and building confidence every single day, and if you’ve been around Central Minnesota for a while, you already know…these camps fill up fast.

So if your child has ever shown even the smallest spark of interest, this might be the summer to let that spark grow.

Because the real takeaway isn’t just the final performance.  It’s confidence they’ll carry forever.

PICK YOUR OWN PRICE

Great Theater wants everyone to be able to experience theater, and because of a generous grant, you can pick your own price. That means if you can afford to pay more for your child to attend, it's appreciated. If you can't, pay what you can.
