Harold Edward Knese, 87, St. Cloud

March 13, 1928 – June 25, 2015

Funeral services celebrating the life of Harold Edward Knese, age 87, of St. Cloud will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Benson Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Harold was born on March 13, 1928 in St. Cloud to Joseph and Ann (Laird) Knese. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1945 and served in the South Pacific during WWII. He was husband to Regina (Finneman) Knese until her death in 1968. He married Diane (Lupkes) Knese in 1970. He worked for the Great Northern/Burlington Northern Railroad for 44 years. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, N.A.R.V.R.E., and the VFW Post #428.

Harold loved fishing, playing cribbage, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a good man who was full of life and he will be remembered that way.

Harold is survived by his wife, Diane Knese; children, Janet (Gene) Moran, Mary Kedrowski, Roger Kedrowski, Deanne (William) Laine, Jennifer (Mark) Bolin, Kerry Knese, Becky Knese, and Eric (Jessica) Knese; grandchildren, Daniel, Miranda, Kayla, Carolyn, Shelby, Crystal, Michael, Cora, and Calvin; great-grandchildren, Kobe, Mackenzie, and Axel; siblings, Dorothy Doyle, Virginia Hollenkamp, and Joanne Peterson; and many nieces and nephews.

Harold was preceded in death by his first wife, Regina and brothers, Donald and Charles.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the VFW Post #428 are preferred.
