Driver Cited After Running Red Light, Causing Crash
ST. CLOUD -- A Clear Lake man was cited this (Tuesday) morning after he ran a red light and crashed into another vehicle.
The incident happened just before 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of 9th Avenue North and 8th Street North in St. Cloud.
Assistant Police Chief Jeff Oxton says 38-year-old Carrieann Jonas was heading west on 8th Street, crossing the intersection on a green light, when she was hit by another vehicle who ran a red light.
After the impact, the second vehicle continued into an electrical pole before striking the corner of a home. The home received minor damage.
The driver of the second vehicle was 77-year-old Lewis Olson of Clear Lake. He was not hurt and cited for failing to stop for a red light.
Jonas was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
