ST. CLOUD - The St. Cloud area school district community education main office and welcome center will be moving to a new location.

Both will be moved to the Midtown Square Mall in Suite 216, effective Monday, March 21st. The community education office and welcome center were temporarily moved to Discovery Community School in Waite Park, after a fire partially destroyed the Roosevelt building in 2014.

District spokeswoman Tami Deland says the move will provide more space. The location will be leased space for the district. The community education office and welcome center could be moved again in the future if a long-term location is found for district early childhood programs. All of the programs were originally to be combined in a new building on Clark Field. However, that plan has been put on hold by district administration.

The welcome center is the location for parents to enroll new and returning students to the district, apply for a transfer to attend a school or program other than the student's assigned attendance area school and to record a change of address.

"The new location is conveniently and centrally located to better serve our community and families and is along a Metro Bus route for easy access," the news release says.

The Midtown Square Mall is at 3333 Division Street in St. Cloud.
