The St. Cloud area school board heard feedback on why a recent referendum failed, summarized from recent community listening sessions. The $167 million November referendum, which included money for a new Tech and updates to Apollo High School, failed with 53% voting against and 47% voting yes.

The St. Cloud area school district community education main office and welcome center will be moving to a new location. The community education office and welcome center were temporarily moved to Discovery Community School in Waite Park, after a fire partially destroyed the Roosevelt building in 2014.

Robots and music education don’t sound like two things that go together...but that’s exactly the case at Talahi Community School. Kindergarten and 1st grade students have been using a robot in class to compose music and play it in class.

Hundreds of area junior high and high schools students are heading to St. Paul for "We Day" on Tuesday. We Day celebrates the efforts of students of contribute against issues like hunger, poverty and bullying. Over 18,000 students from 540 schools in Minnesota are expected to attend.

The District 742 Local Education and Activities Foundation (LEAF) is awarding $24,667 during it's fall activity funds granting cycle. Every year, LEAF awards supplemental money to academic, activities, arts and athletic programs.

One of the most historic high school football stadiums in Minnesota will be demolished to make way for a new community education building and welcome center. The St. Cloud area school district has approved a call for bids for site preparation for a new building on the site.

St. Cloud Cathedral is starting fundraising in hopes of building a new two-story facility on its campus. Cathedral president Mike Mullin says the school has spent six years preparing for the project.

Attending online public school is a growing trend for students and families in St. Cloud. Around 100 students in the St. Cloud area are now enrolled in MTS Minnesota Connections Academy, an online school based in St. Paul. Students attend classes and interact with their classmates online. Work is done with teachers via email, live online lessons, text-based curriculum, webcasts and telephone conversations.
