District 742 Programs Get Over $24,000 In Grants From LEAF
ST. CLOUD - The District 742 Local Education and Activities Foundation (LEAF) is awarding $24,667 during it's fall activity funds granting cycle.
Every year, LEAF awards supplemental money to academic, activities, arts and athletic programs.
Teachers, coaches and advisers submit grant applications for special projects twice during the academic year. Grants awarded this fall include money for diverse projects, including:
- $1,500 Apollo Girls Soccer Uniforms
- $3,200 Tech Girls Basketball Uniforms
- $1,300 Tech Boys Uniforms
- $1,400 Tech Boys & Girls Track Equipment
- $1,000 South Jr. High VEX Robotics Starter Kits
- $2,000 South Jr. High Boys & Girls Basketball Uniforms
- $550 Talahi Elementary Video Artist Residency
- $1,785 Disadvantaged Student Activities Support
- $550 North Jr. High “Draw for Art” Program Supplies
- $675 North Jr. High Art Club Supplies
- $750 North Jr. High Eagles Act Club
- $1,000 Tech 9th Grade Boys Basketball Jerseys
- $1,230 Tech Boys/Girls Golf Mats
- $1,200 Tech NASA Student Scholarships
- $500 Apollo Wellness Center
- $320 Apollo Wrestling Camcorders
- $2,087 District-wide First Robotics Program
- $300 Tech Orchestra Young People’s Concert
- $320 Apollo Creative Magazine
- $2,000 Tech Health Occupations (HOSA) Conferences/Competitions
- $1,000 Tech Girls Softball Jerseys
Since 1996, LEAF has been able to contribute $1,185,607 to projects in District 742.
