ST. CLOUD -- Residents in southeast St. Cloud had some unlikely visitors Sunday afternoon.

Police received a call about three black bears in a tree in the 400 block of 15th Avenue Southeast.  It happened just before 2:00 p.m.

The Minnesota DNR was notified and suggested leaving the adult bear and two smaller bears alone because they would likely leave by nightfall. An officer was dispatched to the scene and stayed for several hours so no one would disturb the animals.

As of this morning, police say the bears had come down from the tree and left the area without incident.

The police department hasn't received any other calls about the bears today.
