The win was secured when Vikings defensive back Cameron Dantzler took the ball away from Chicago receiver Ihmir Smith-Marsette. Smith-Marsette was cut by the Vikings just over a month ago and picked up by the Bears.
The Vikings rallied from a 14-3 halftime deficit to the Chicago Bears Sunday to win 31-17 at U.S. Bank Stadium to close the season 8-9. Kirk Cousins threw for 250 yards and 3 touchdowns without an interception.
The walleye fishing opener was last Saturday in Minnesota. Glen Schmitt from Outdoor News joined me on WJON Thursday. He says the opener wasn't as good for fishing as past openers in large part due to the weather. The DNR says fishing license sales are up this year by 5% from last year despite the high popularity of fishing last year due to the pandemic.

The Vikings lost 16-6 Sunday afternoon in Chicago to the Bears to drop to 2-2 on the season. Chicago led 10-0 at halftime and 16-0 at the end of 3 quarters. The Vikings knocked out Bears' starting quarterback Mitchell Trubisky in the 1st quarter but backup Chase Daniel threw for 195 yards and a touchdown to lift Chicago to the win.
The Vikings could move into a first place tie Sunday if they beat the Bears in Chicago. That became possible after Green Bay lost at home to Philadelphia Thursday night. Detroit would need to lose at home against Kansas City for that to become possible too.
