PAYNESVILLE - Paynesville Police searched for a suspect in town with multiple felony warrants on Tuesday, but the man was able to escape authorities on foot.

Paynesville Police Chief Paul Wegner says they learned that 26-year-old Ryan Clover was in the area around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clover has warrants out for terroristic threats and for failing to register as a predatory offender.

Two K9's and a State Patrol Helicopter were used to try and find him, but were unsuccessful. Wegner says he also struggled with officers at one point. The search went into the evening for several hours.

Wegner says they lost track of him near a river on the north side of town. Clover was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans and no shoes. He is 5 '6-160 pounds and has scruffy facial hair and several tattoos.

If anyone sees him in the area, you're urged to contact Paynesville Police at 320-243-7346 or the Stearns County Sheriff's Office.
