5-Year-Old Hurt in Boating Accident Near Motley

MOTLEY -- A five-year-old girl was hurt in a boating accident Thursday.

The incident happened around 4:30 p.m. on Lake Alexander, southeast of Motley.

The Morrison County Sheriff's Office says the girl was on a wakeboard boat that was pulling a tube with passengers. While on the water, the ski tower broke, falling on top of her and hitting her in the head.

She was taken to Staples Hospital with a head injury.
