World Record Ice Maze Coming To Minnesota’s Winter SKOLstice
This year's Winter SKOLstice festival in Eagan, Minnesota is aiming to be a world-record setting event.
The Winter SKOLstice is entering its fourth year at Viking Lakes and features a ton of winter activities perfect for the whole family. From the Magic of Lights drive-thru holiday light experience to Blitzen's Bar, there is something for everyone.
The main attraction this year might just be the event's massive ice maze, which is part of the Minnesota Ice Festival. This year's maze is set to be twice as big as last year's maze and 50% bigger than the current world record holder.
In addition to the maze, attractions include a multi-lane ice slide, ice thrones, ice bars, weekend theme nights, scavenger hunts, fire pits and food trucks.
The Winter SKOLstice also boasts a 40,000 square foot sheet of ice dedicated to ice sports. Curling, pond hockey and open skating are all on the docket for the event.
“Viking Lakes is proud to bring back our celebration of winter”, said Viking Lakes General Manager Kyle Chank in a press release. “We have a robust line-up of weekend events, highly anticipated returning attractions, an enhanced Warming Haus experience, and other festivities, all designed to give Minnesotans of all ages the opportunity to enjoy our favorite time of the year.”
The Winter SKOLstice will open on November 22nd and runs through February 23rd, 2025.
