Hmmm?  What are the snowiest cities in Minnesota? I checked with a website called Current Results: Weather and Science Facts to find out what those cities were.

The results are based on weather data that was collected from 1981 to 2010 for the NOAA National Climatic Data Center.

THE SNOWIEST CITIES IN MINNESOTA 

There are many factors you can base it on, but looking at just average snowfall in inches, these are the snowiest cities in our state:

  1. Duluth:  86.1 inches
  2. International Falls: 71.0 inches
  3. Hibbing: 60.3 inches
  4. Moorhead: 57.9 inches
  5. Gunflint Lake: 57.1 inches
  6. Two Harbors: 56.2 inches
  7. Grand Rapids: 55.5 inches
  8. Minneapolis: 54.0 inches
  9. Rochester: 51.9 inches
  10. St. Paul: 50.6 inches

THE SNOWIEST CITIES IN OUR AREA

  1. Moorhead:  57.9 inches
  2. Brainerd: 46.8 inches
  3. St. Cloud: 46.1 inches
  4. Detroit Lakes: 44.8 inches
  5. Alexandria: 42.3 inches

So if you're looking for snow for your outdoor activities, plan a trip to one of these Minnesota cities.
