ST. CLOUD - The St. Cloud Christian School played their first-ever varsity boys basketball game last (Monday) night.  The Warriors beat Calvin Christian of Fridley 63-56.

Chad Schneider is their head coach, as well as the school's administrator.  He says they had a good night from their seniors.

Schneider says they decided to play a varsity schedule this year, after the team went 11-3 last year as a junior varsity.  There are four seniors on the team, and they have 15 players total.

He says the "Warriors" are playing this year in the Christian Athletic League.

They play their home games at St. Cloud Cathedral High School.  Schneider says they also have a few public schools on their schedule - coming-up in December they'll be playing Royalton at St. Cloud State University.

The St. Cloud Christian School has had varsity volleyball for the past two seasons.  And, they also have varsity cross country and track.  They also have a coop agreement with St. Cloud Cathedral for a variety of other sports like football, soccer and swimming and diving.

The St. Cloud Christian School has been in existance for 15 years - the past eight they've been located in the former Jefferson elementary building in northeast St. Cloud.  They have a total of 225 students in grades K-12.
