RICE-- Sauk Rapids Police and the Benton County Sheriff's Office are asking for your help in finding the owner of a stolen ATV.

The Benton County Sheriff's office says they were called to a home in the 1300 block of Little Rock Rd NE in Rice shortly before 9:30 p.m. Thursday. The owner of the home says they returned home and found an unknown vehicle parked in their driveway and inside the vehicle was stolen items from the home. Deputies searched the area and found evidence that the suspect fled the scene on foot.

After nearly two hours, a Sauk Rapids resident called  Sauk Rapids Police and reported that an unknown man was at their home and had an ATV. The Sauk Rapids resident told police they believed the ATV was stolen. The suspect, 30-year-old John Wipper of Clear Lake admitted to stealing the ATV and was arrested. Wipper didn't say where or who he stole the ATV from.

The Benton County Sheriff's office says they believe the two incidents may be related and the ATV may have been stolen from a home somewhere between Little Rock Road and Sauk Rapids.

The stolen ATV is a 2004 Polaris 500 Sportsman.
