Mass of Christian Burial will be 11AM Wednesday September 3, 2014 at the Church of Our Lady in Manannah for Dick McCann who died Friday at the University of Minnesota Hospital in Minneapolis. The Rev. Joseph Steinbeisser will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends and relatives may call from 4-8PM on Tuesday and 1 hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church in Manannah. Parish prayers will be prayed at 8:00PM Tuesday at the church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Eden Valley.

Dick was born in Manannah to Michael & Loretta (McIntee) McCann. He married Evelin Boyer on September 29, 1958 at the Church of Our Lady in Manannah. He lived and farmed in the Manannah area for most of his life, and also retired from Frigidaire in St. Cloud after working there for 14 years. He moved into Eden Valley in 2010. He is a member of the Church of Our Lady in Manannah. Dick enjoyed farming and loved his John Deere Tractors. He was a man of few words who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially at the Valley Inn in Eden Valley. They were able to meet there and socialize there. He enjoyed being with his family and teasing his grandkids. Dick always had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed Polka music and dancing, playing cards and dice. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting and just being at the farm.

Survivors include his children, Deb (Allan) Lang of Eden Valley; John (Jackie) McCann of Grove City; Julann (Barry) Albright of Paynesville; Barb (Rick) Laidlaw of Grove City; Richard (Stacy Eggersgluess) McCann of Eden Valley; Mary (Tim Phillipp) McCann of Eden Valley; Bill (Terri) McCann of Eden Valley; daughter in law, Jolene McCann of North Carolina; sisters, Betty (Leo) Asfeld of Sauk Centre; Rosie Weldon of Osakis; 23 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Evelin in 1998, son Joseph, grandson, Nick, brothers, Frank, Eugene, sister, Lorraine Binsfeld.
