ST. CLOUD - Two people are hurt after a two vehicle crash near the Sauk Rapids Bridge this (Monday) morning.

The incident happened at about 7:30 a.m. in the area of 6th Avenue North and 9th Avenue North.

Sergeant Jason Burke says 32-year-old Bennie Parker III, of St. Cloud, was driving north on 9th Avenue, approaching 6th Avenue, when he lost control, drove across the median into southbound traffic, and was hit by another vehicle causing it to roll.

34-year-old Bridget Demarais, of Rice, was the driver of the second vehicle. She was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Burke says it's believed Parker was driving over 60 mph prior to the crash. He also says Parker also showed signs of impairment and is being processed for a DWI.

The crash closed down southbound and northbound traffic on 9th Avenue North for about two hours.
