CLEARWATER -- The Minnesota Department of Transportation will hold an open house tomorrow (Thursday) so you can get a look at the Highway 24 bridge replacement project in Clearwater.

MnDOT will begin replacing the 57-year-old bridge which spans the Mississippi River starting this month.  The existing bridge will remain open to traffic while the new one is built.

The new two-lane bridge will be just downstream from the existing bridge and will include wider lanes, shoulders and sidewalk.

The open house will be at Clearwater City Hall from 5:00-7:00 p.m. You'll be able to learn about the schedule, traffic plans and ask questions of MnDOT staff.

The $17,400,000 project will be completed in 2018 and will include the demolition of the old bridge.
